The origins of First Tuesday
The First Tuesday community began in October 1998 in the Alphabet Bar in Soho, London, UK when Adam Gold, Nick Denton and Julie Meyer brought together 80 friends involved creating new media companies. The event caught a moment.

Corporate history
First Tuesday was sold in July 2001 to Yazam, the Israeli venture investment matchmaker. Yazam later sold the events group back to its membership. First Tuesday was always a technology boomtime phenomenon, and there are fewer events now, but it has had a lasting impact on entrepreneurial culture in Europe.
