Bill Keller's solution to morale problems at the New York Times is an expensive one: create lots of senior new jobs, and dole them out liberally. Promotions for everybody! Somebody with more time should count how many assistant managing editorss Keller's created since he replaced Howell Raines as editor, with a mandate to put the New York Times back together.
