Friends of Frank
The details of Frank Quattrone's massive bribery operation are finally beginning to come out. The Silicon Vallay investment banker doled out IPO favors to key executives in exchange for the investment banking fees on their own offerings. The San Jose Mercury News has a list of 63 who received special 'Friends of Frank' accounts. Among them, 12 executives at Phone.com, who made profits of $9.3m. Cheap at the price: the company generated more than $76m in fees for Quattrone's bank. Still to come out: the names of the venture capitalists on Quattrone's bribe list.
