Interns for Gizmodo and Gawker
This is an advertisement for interns. Gawker and Gizmodo are niche media titles covering Manhattan culture and high-tech gadgets respectively. The interns would be working alongside Elizabeth Spiers at Gawker and Pete Rojas at Gizmodo. The work experience would mainly involve research: for instance, compiling a directory of places in New York where it will still be possible to smoke. There may also be the opportunity to write some short items for the sites. Candidates should have journalistic ambitions, some knowledge with the subject matter of the title for which they want to work, computer literacy, and familiarity with IM. The work would be 10-20 hours per week, and a very modest weekly stipend will be available. Applications -- a resume plus short covering note -- to intern@gawker.com or intern@gizmodo.com. #
